Taipei Dadaocheng Summer Fireworks Festival

The City of Taipei with hold its annual summer fireworks festival at Dadaocheng Wharf on Saturday, August 18, 2012.

Festivities kick off at 4:30 pm with food stalls and activities and at 6:20 pm the Opening Ceremony will begin before various live acts perform in a build up to the main event, the fireworks!

The actual fireworks start at 8:30 pm and last for a total of 20 minutes.

This is one of the main festivals of the summer in Taipei, so it will be crowded, and the use of local transport is highly recommended.

Buses to the festival venue will run every 4-6 minutes between 5:00 pm and 11 pm and are available from three locations:

1) MRT Shuanglian Station

2) Taipei Main Station (East 3 Exit)

3) MRT Daqiaotou Station – takes buses # 2, 9, 223, 302, or 208 to the venue.


Don’t forget to take your camera, because the fireworks will be lighting up Taipei’s skyline for some amazing views.
