The foot bath area within Beitou’s Quanyuan Park is a popular spot for locals to relax outdoors while soaking their feet in natural hot spring water.. The best part is, use of all the facilities are free of charge, which makes the foot bath area a great way to enjoy Beitou’s famous hot springs waters when on a budget.
The park is a little out of the way, so use of google maps is recommended (provided below). The foot bath area is located in the north eastern end of the park and is about a 15-20 minute uphill walk from MRT Xin Beitou Station. The park alone probably does not justify a trip to Beitou, but there are many other spots of interest in the vicinity, and a quick stop to refresh ones feet can easily be added to an itinerary while exploring the general Betiou area. The hot spring facilities when renovated in 2012 and consist of a 20 meter long foot bath, shoe change area with cubbyholes, and a hand operated pump with cold water to wash off your feet before and after use. The park is also a great place for peaceful walks under the lush green canopy.
